GPRS,genral packet radio service,is a new business developed from GSM System,so as to provide the GSM users grouping formed data business.

GPRS adopts the same wireless modulation standard,the same frequency band,the same gusty construction,the same frequency hopping rules,the same TDMA frame construction as GSM.This new grouping data channel is similar to the current data exchanging vocal business channel.Hence the existing Base Station Subsystem(bss) can serve complete GPRS cover from the beginning.

GPRS permits users to send and receive datas under a mode of p2p grouping transtering,even without the net source of data exchanging mode.Therefore it provides a kind of wireless grouping data business which is effective and low cost.it especially can be used to incontinuous,gusty,frequent and few data transfering,as well as occasional large amount of data transfering.
